ACCESS PROGRAMMES
Since opening in 1999 the Crichton Campus has
aimed to encourage as many people as possible to consider higher
education. To provide students
with the skills and confidence to undertake degree level study
the University has designed a range of access programmes.
If you are entering University for the first
time or after a substantial break, you may want to consider one
of our Access Programmes, which will give you a taste of university,
make you familiar with the facilities and courses, and give you
the confidence you need to progress to full or part-time study.
Access Courses
An access to university course runs on the Crichton Campus each year,
lasting for anything between 2 and 7 weeks. The purpose of these courses is
to provide students with the skills and confidence to consider degree level
study as a full or part-time student. They are aimed at young and mature
students who feel they would benefit from an intensive introduction to
higher level study and can usually boost entry qualifications and help meet
full or part-time entry criteria. They provide students with a taste of some
of the subjects taught at university, along with a selection of skills based
classes. Although the courses vary in length so too does the attendance -
some are part-time evening while others are full-time day courses. If you
would like to receive further information about the Access Courses running
this year please contact the relevant Marketing Office:
