CLUBS AND SOCIETIES

Student life on Campus is growing fast and as well as supporting the clubs and societies that currently exist Crichton Campus students are encouraged to get involved in shaping the development of new clubs.

Student Representative Council
The Student Representative Council (SRC) is a student-run body, which is proactive in representing the needs of the Crichton Campus student. Visit the SRC website at: www.cucsrc.org.uk

The Crichton University Campus Football Club was established in 2003. The teams play inter-university matches as well as against local organisations. They train on Friday evenings at King George V Park in Dumfries (soon to move to grounds on the Campus). There are plans for hockey, lacrosse and rugby clubs.

In 2003 the Crichton Writers Group was formed. The Group, which has a policy of encouraging publication and performance of members work, meets weekly in the Drama Room.

A Film Club has been formed recently, holding monthly events at the Robert Burns Centre with a view to holding fortnightly screenings at the Campus. New members are welcome. Contact Neil Logan or Davy Jones at crichtonfilm@hotmail.com

There is a music club, which is planning a weekly jamming session in a variety of musical genres to be held in the Studio of Rutherford McCowan. Members are encouraged to develop and apply their performance skills.
