CLUBS AND SOCIETIES
Student life
on Campus is growing fast and as well as supporting the clubs
and societies that currently exist Crichton Campus students
are encouraged to get involved in shaping the development
of new clubs.
Student Representative Council
The Student Representative Council (SRC) is a student-run
body, which is proactive in representing the needs of the

The Crichton University Campus
Football Club was established in 2003. The teams play inter-university
matches as well as against local organisations. They train
on Friday evenings at King George V Park in Dumfries (soon
to move to grounds on the Campus). There are plans for hockey,
lacrosse and rugby clubs.
In 2003 the Crichton Writers Group was formed. The Group,
which has a policy of encouraging publication and performance
of members work, meets weekly in the Drama Room.
A Film Club has been formed recently, holding monthly events
at the Robert Burns Centre with a view to holding fortnightly
screenings at the Campus. New members are welcome. Contact

There is a music club, which is planning a weekly jamming
session in a variety of musical genres to be held in the Studio
of Rutherford McCowan. Members are encouraged to develop and
apply their performance skills.
