Campus Facilities

Library

Students at Crichton University Campus have access to their own Campus Library which houses an expanding collection of books, journals and audio-visual materials to support all the undergraduate courses taught on site. As well as printed materials the library provides computer access to thousands of electronic resources and journals. The networked personal computers provide every student with email, word-processing, spreadsheet and Internet facilities. Matriculated students also have access to the facilities offered by the main campus Libraries. Books can be borrowed from the library in Glasgow and Paisley, and students at the Crichton Campus can do so in person or by means of the Crichton postal loan system.

Student Accommodation

The University of Glasgow hopes to provide first year students on the University of Glasgow courses, with University managed accommodation. In contrast to the traditional teaching buildings the student residences is a brand new block containing self-catering flats with fully-equipped kitchens. The block is situated at Kingholm Quay a ten-minute walk from the Campus.
Each five-bedroomed flat shares a kitchen/living room where the residents can gather for meals and socialising, and there are shared laundry facilities. The bedrooms are single, with en-suite facilities and telephone points.

Students studying University of Paisley courses in Dumfries, may be able to secure accommodation in the University of Glasgow accommodation block, but alternatively, privately rented accommodation is available in Dumfries at relatively reasonable prices.
